Sarah attended Nottingham Law School where she passed her Legal Practice Course with Distinction and went on to earn a Post Graduate Diploma in Law. She also earned a B.A. (Hons.) in European Business and completed her training at a large law firm in Derby.
After qualifying as a Solicitor in 1998, Sarah worked for eleven years in Reading at a highly respected law firm as a Dispute Resolution and Insolvency Solicitor, gaining high-quality experience in a number of sectors including information technology, advertising, retail, accountancy, property, construction and the financial services industries. Sarah discovered her interest in Employment Law when she was involved in a multiparty TUPE case and has since then developed her employment practice.
With twenty years of experience in dispute resolution, both in the Civil Courts and in the Employment Tribunal, Sarah advises clients on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law. She has brought claims on behalf of employees in the Employment Tribunal including unfair dismissal, discrimination, and multi-party TUPE cases, and has obtained substantial settlements for her clients.
Sarah also advises Employers on day-to-day employment queries and drafts contracts of employment, settlement agreements and policies and procedures. Additionally, she has experience in breach of contract claims and injunctions and claims for breach of restrictive covenants brought through County Courts.
With her strong business sense, good advocacy experience and proven negotiation skills, Sarah adopts a practical approach to commercial legal issues. She also speaks good German, having lived in Germany while working and studying at the University of Paderborn during the time that she was completing her degree in European Business.
